2007 reports

*****Report from the field (Friday evening December 2nd):

Command posts have been established and communications are go for Operation: "Take Back the Woods". Area's have been navigated mapped and team cells have been established. All preemptive measure have been taken to prepare for the following opperation days.

*****Report from the field (Saturday evening December 3th):

We have broken up in to multiple 2 man/woman cells to scout the areas located around Northern NJ's area. This is a combined field report from our comunications station on all locations in our grid mapped patroled areas back to centcom.

Since yesterday we have located almost 12 tree stands as well as 5 bait stations that have been destroyed. It would appear that Few guns shots were reprorted back as of 4:30 PM or just after night fall. The temperatures have dropped and we are hoping this will cause bears to go nocturnal and also to den for the remaining winter.

As many as 20 trail markers have been located at this time following up 4 trails. All locations have been GPS marked to watch for later activity.

NEWS BULLETIN: December 4th

Snow is falling in northwestern New Jersey and anonymous reports are pouring in from Bear Defenders, who are hard at work preparing for opening of the government sanctioned assassination of black bears.  While hunters prepare for the hunt (see photo above), animal liberation warriors have taken to the field in defense of native forest dwellers.

Numerous tree stands that have been previously sighted are no longer visible...something appears to have happened to them during the night.   Donut laced bait stations were sighted but reports indicate that they may have been compromised by mysterious ammonia like substances.  Flourescent trail markers seem to have been repositioned.  We sure hope Elmer has a compass as he may become "vewy, vewy confused".  Bear tracks and scat have been obliterated and are now covered by the falling snow.  Blaze orange markers appear to have been randomly scattered throughout the woods adding to the confusion.

Reports indicate that there have been numerous bear sightings and that the bears are gentle and docile and not the least bit aggressive.  It is our fervent hope that the snow will continue and drive them to den and that the presence of active bear defenders will alert them to the coming danger.

More as breaking news develops..........

*****Report from the field (Sunday evening December 4th):

With may bear sightings, the danger of being licked to death and many tracks to cover up the weekend was a huge success. It would appear that as many 12 hunting tree stands that we found have gone missing in the night. There is also a a severely large increase in fire wood found available in locations outside of the woods. All of the located baiting stations are not only missing their donuts but have this awful ammonia like smell coming off them since last night. Someone appears to have been busy. It also seems as though hunters or someone else may have removed the "bright eyes" (hunting night time trail markers) from their previous locations. We have found sightings of some relocated and arranged in smiley faces on trees in other locations. With yet again that smell funny in the air.

*****Report from the field (Monday evening December 5th):

With not as many gun shots to be heard this cell of Bear Defenders trecked out into the snow covered ground to hide bear tracks from others. After following human tracks we were able to locate 2 hunters who seem to have a shity day after us finding there where abouts. Our Location was reported in with GPS to other Bear Defenders who decided to come in for a hike. As many as 15 Bear Defender surrounded the area with the hunter until a physical altercation became inevitable when a bear was sited. Defenders were as close as 5 feet from the hunter on all sides. They must have decided to stop and rest after hiking and berry picking. Pissed off hunters left the woods after the 2 hour rest stop in that area. Some carried on to track them to their vehicles while this cell moved on to hunt down more killers and protect more bears.

Monday's Quote "You ruined my day."

Oh well. You hunt, we hike. Now fuck off.

For the Bears we will fight.

December 6th - Other reports in:

Hunter tree stands and bait stations continue to be compromised during the state sanctioned black bear slaughter.  Bear defenders were heavily concentrated in New Jersey's Waywayanda State Park.  One of our teams was stationed in an area that was being heavily patrolled by both Bear Defenders and Wounded Bear Rescue Teams.   Patrols spotted many bears, but heard very few gun shots. Bears seemed passive and not at all dangerous.

We should call these people what they really are. They are not hunters, they are assassins. They are not fierce warriors, they are cowards.....hiding and waiting for an unsuspecting bear to happen along for the bait that they have been setting out most likely for weeks now.  The cold hard reality is that most of these bears will be shot in the back from tree stands while they munch on jelly donuts and BBQ grease that has been left in the woods in order to create an easy target for these murderous scum. There is nothing sportsmanlike about bear hunting
